ABOUT OUR HOTEL
Located on Balo Street in Beyoğlu, our six-story hotel was built in 1893 by the Greek architect Petros Adamandidis for his family’s use and was named the Petraki Apartment. Petros Adamandidis, also known as Petraki Kalfa, was a distinguished architect/master of his time. Apart from his own home in Büyükada, his known works include the Said Halim Paşa Mansion in Yeniköy, the İzzeddin Efendi Mansion in Çamlıca, an apartment building in Kuledibi, and his own apartment in Galatasaray. In addition to the neoclassical structures he designed, he also restored the Spice Bazaar, which was damaged during an earthquake. Holding the “Sani” and “Evvel” degrees of the Ula rank, Petraki Kalfa’s son, Viktor Adamandidis (1881-1948), was also a prolific architect of his era. The Adamandidis family continued to use this building as their residence until the early 2000s. Our hotel, a cultural heritage site, has been restored in accordance with its original design. Since 2010, the building has been operating as a hotel, and as of 2019, it has been managed by Y Turizm Limited Company as Petros Hotel.
